Programme Requirement:

The role has the following key responsibilities: 

 • Assisting with programme planning and support for the following safety activities: 
 o Safety Programme scoping and planning 
 o Resource Workload Planning, Support to Bids and Proposals 
 o Identifying, monitoring and executing risks, issues and opportunities and supporting the development of mitigation plans 

 • Undertaking the development of Apache Programme Service level Safety Case or the safety assessment of the Apache Training equipment in accordance with MoD Safety Policy, Defence Standard 00-056 and associated international standards including the development, maintenance and update of: 
 o Safety Management Plans 
 o Safety Assessments for Safety related software subsystems 
 o Hazard Identification and Analysis techniques including but not limited to: Functional Failure Analysis, Structured What If Technique (SWIFT) 
 o Hazard Logs using the CASSANDRA or other Hazard Log tools 
 o Safety Cases, Safety Case Reports for Products and Services 
 o Safety Arguments using Claims, Argument Evidence and Goal Structuring Notation using the Adelard Assurance and Safety Case Environment (ASCE) software 
  
• Ensuring close liaison, through proactive collaborative behaviour, with  Customer and Supplier technical disciplines to ensure appropriate evidence is available to support the Safety Cases 

 • Proactively supporting Customer and Supplier Safety Meetings and chair internal and customer-facing System Safety Working Groups

Required Qualifications:

 o Hazard Identification and Analysis techniques including but not limited to: Functional Failure Analysis, Structured What If Technique (SWIFT) 
 o Hazard Logs using the CASSANDRA or other Hazard Log tools 
 o Safety Cases, Safety Case Reports for Products and Services 
 o Safety Arguments using Claims, Argument Evidence and Goal Structuring Notation using the Adelard Assurance and Safety Case Environment (ASCE) software 

 • Ensuring close liaison, through proactive collaborative behaviour, with other Customer and Supplier technical disciplines to ensure appropriate evidence is available to support the Safety Cases 

 • Proactively supporting Customer and Supplier Safety Meetings and chair internal and customer-facing System Safety Working Groups

Required Qualifications: 

 • Experience developing Safety Cases for complex systems and aircraft Training equipment and/or Services

 • Formal System Safety training would be highly desirable 
 • Degree in Engineering or equivalent 
 • Demonstrable experience leading and developing Safety Assessments for MoD aircraft and/or ground based systems 
 • Previous industry Safety Engineering experience in the application of MoD Safety Policy and Def Stan 00-056 
 • Understanding and experience of applying Safety Techniques to Safety Related Data and Information Systems 
 • Experience with the use of common safety tools, specifically CASSANDRA, Adelard Assurance and Safety Case Environment 
 • Demonstrating the ability to plan of work, and develop/use meaningful metrics to evaluate safety status and provide performance visibility 
 • Ability to effectively identify and execute opportunities to improve strategies, processes and project plans 
 • Experience of developing resource workload plans and schedules 
 • Experience of providing safety support into bids and proposals 
 • Excellent communication skills, technical competencies, and skills with project management concepts/tools 
 • For senior roles, completion of or working towards a post graduate qualification in System Safety Engineering is highly desirable, but not essential,

The Quality Engineer provides Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitoring. This is a key role in providing quality assurance against the Quality Management System (QMS), MRP Part 145 Regulations and AS9100/AS9110 standards, with responsibility for contribution to and maintenance of the current capability/approval/certification. As a member of the Aircraft Programmes Quality function, the individual will be taking tasking and reporting on Quality matters to the Aircraft Programmes Quality Lead and Accountable Manager (Maintenance) (AM(M)), in the Quality Leads absence. 

Responsibilities will include: 

 o Review the suitability of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP) of personnel, to allow relevant   authorisations to be issued 
 o Leading FOD initiatives and regular FOD walks of Hangar/controlled areas 
 o Conducting internal audits against MRP Regulations and AS9100/9110 standards 
 o Undertaking quality and safety investigations 
 o Non-conformance Management and inputting data into software tools 
 o Supporting customer on site meetings with regards to Quality Occurrence Reports 
 o Supporting Operations Management with regards to on site and contract Quality Assurance 
 o Other Quality related tasks as directed by the Quality Team Lead and Quality Manager

This post is for a Manufacturing Planner to work within the engineering support function and will report to the Structures & Build Capability Engineering Manager. 

The Manufacturing Planner: 


 • Authors technical work instructions to approved process & regulatory requirements, writing, editing & proof reading text, collating & verifying technical /engineering information, creating and editing bespoke work instructions. 
 • Interprets multiple source formats of approved engineering data from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Design Organisation (DO), or Applicable Customer controlled Maintenance data sources in order to produce a standardised, easy to use & logical set of production/manufacturing plans with consideration of regulatory requirements for accurate maintenance recording. 
 • Maintains configuration control of plan sets, including engineering baseline establishment lists, manufacturing plans (master plans), associated aircraft specific plans (A/C work orders) and non-conformance report (NCR) work orders. 
 • Facilitates the creation, maintenance, receipt and delivery of multiple complex electronic work packages, manufacturing plans, NCR (non-conformance report) work instructions, & bespoke work instructions in support of production, modification & maintenance activities. 
 • Has key skills in professional & technical communication, retention of technical knowledge, eye for detail, ability to articulate meaning and convey factual information clearly & concisely. 
 • Has excellent knowledge of ERP Tools containing electronic work instructions & associated interfacing systems/functions. 
 • Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configurations. 
 • Provides recording & feedback information to leadership and project teams to enable tracking & metrics reporting analysis. 
 • Develops & supports testing, surveys, trials etc. to support Statements Of Work (SOW) and business estimates. 
 • Supports end to end processes for modification and design development & application activities. 
 • Provides input to design, manufacturing processes and production methods to meet efficiency, cost and schedule targets. 
 • Develops integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support schedule & delivery commitments. 
 • Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements. 

Essential qualifications and experience: 


 • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience. 
 • Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles (RAs). 
 • Extensive experience in either depth maintenance, repairs, mods & upgrades, or experience in the use of ERP Tools to author electronic work instructions.
